Infinia fue escogida entre 20.000 empresas emergentes para participar del programa de Y Combinator en 2023. Además, recibirá U$S 500.000 para su desarrollo.
La fintech de Uruguay, Infinia, fue seleccionada por Y Combinator, la mayor aceleradora de startups de Estados Unidos, para su próximo grupo de aceleración y mentoría que se llevará a cabo durante cuatro meses del 2023, en formato híbrido en San Francisco, California; y recibirá 500.000 dólares para escalar su negocio.
La startup uruguaya se dedica al procesamiento de pagos cuenta a cuenta sin la necesidad de intermediarios durante el checkout del comercio comenzó sus operaciones este mismo año, de la mano de sus fundadores Ianai Urwicz y Alejandro Rettig.
Con apenas meses de funcionamiento, Infinia ya tiene 18 clientes en Uruguay, Paraguay y Brasil y ahora ha sido elegida entre 20.000 empresas emergentes para participar del programa de Y Combinator el año que viene, junto a otros 200 emprendimientos.
El funcionamiento de Infinia
De momento, la plataforma funciona en las tiendas online, pero a futuro el objetivo es llegar también a locales físicos con un código QR. El diferencial que ofrecen a sus clientes es la posibilidad de ahorrar pasos en el proceso de pago, evitando que el cliente final deba salir de la página, ir a la cuenta de banco y hacer la transacción desde ahí. Con Infinia, las empresas solo deben agregar la API de la plataforma para obtener los pagos directos entre cuentas bancarias.
Según Urwicz y Rettig, la modalidad representa un ahorro del 70% para los comerciantes respecto de las tarjetas de crédito y, además, ganan en velocidad de pago. Si bien insisten en que su principal competidor es el uso de efectivo.
Además, para el consumidor final ofrecen un sistema de recompensas como valor agregado.
